Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
– Vince Lombardi
Meaning of this quote:
No one is 100% perfect in this world, everyone has their flaws and that’s what makes us unique. When we embrace imperfection, we indirectly embrace life as well, life is also imperfect, everyone has their own challenges and that’s what makes life truly interesting.
Perfection is not attainable, because there’s no limit to it. Perfection can make you work on something endlessly because there’s always a scope for improvement no matter how good the thing is, and this is the process where we can catch the excellence.
Excellence is doing something in a consistent manner, It’s perseverance that leads to it. Remember, there’s no point in not doing something just because you’re not good at it, In fact, It’s a good enough reason to do it instead.
Remember, even the Pro was once a beginner, no one is born with the skills, everyone develops them through practice, no one knows everything, we all learn and grow as we go through the journey or process.
Don’t let perfectionism stops you from beginning with a first step
Getting started is what’s really matters the most, everything else is secondary or a by-product.
Don’t aim to make it perfect from the very initial stage, don’t let it resist you from beginning with the first step. Realize that there’s no limit to perfectionism, the act of making it flawless can take forever.
Realize that you don’t have to be an expert to start something, but you’ve to start to be the one. You don’t have to be absolutely perfect when you begin with something new, but you’ve to begin and keep doing it in a continuous manner in order to chase excellence.
Everything seems pointless when we aim to make things 100% perfect and it stops us from taking an action.
The real purpose of perfectionism should be to inspire you and not stop you, there is one great quote by Les Brown: “Shoot for the moon even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”
Embrace and be yourself
Perfection is great when It motivates you to do things, and perfection is bad when it makes you unhappy and it resists you from doing your things for the sake of making them 100% perfect or flawless.
Remember, flaws or imperfections are part of our life, no one can achieve 100% perfection. There is perfection in imperfection, no one is either perfect or imperfect.
Excellence is a continuous process, it’s an act and not something that can be achieved in the first go. Excellence happens when you keep up doing it in a consistent manner. Excellence is the act of performing something better than yesterday.
Don’t let perfectionism dilute the value of your goals and realize that excellence is not an accident, excellence is the result of doing common things uncommonly well.
Dream big, set the big goals, but don’t allow perfectionism to set unrealistic expectations, because that’s the best way to lose the path. It’s really easy to attract a feeling of failure when over-perfectionism limits us.
Chase the perfectionism but don’t allow it to put a limit on your vision or goals. There’s no secret formula for excellence, It’s purely a result of hard work, planning, and perseverance.
Consistent results occur when consistent efforts are made. Quick and easy tricks don’t work in the long run, It takes dedication and discipline to achieve great things.
Perseverance is the key, anyone can achieve excellence by aiming to be better than what they were yesterday.
Perfection is impossible; just strive to do your best.
