Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.
– James Baldwin
Whenever we face challenges, we overcome some of them, however, when we refuse to face them, we overcome none of them.
We cannot achieve everything we work toward, but nothing can be accomplished unless we work toward them. Not every goal can be fulfilled even when we truly put in the effort, but none of the goals ever get fulfilled when we do nothing.
We are ultimately responsible for everything. Either we can set limits on our capabilities or we can push ourselves beyond them. Aren’t we have to accept and face the limitations before we can reach beyond them?
Challenges never disappear and goals can never be fulfilled on their own. Our actions determine everything. A direct correlation exists between our efforts and the results.
Either things happen or they don’t
There is one iconic line said by a fictional character Yoda: “do, or do not. there is no try.“
Either you can make things happen or you don’t, there is no third option. Either you face something and claim some of the changes, or you don’t face anything and claim none.
The change will only occur once we confront the problems and undertake action to resolve them. The journey begins when we take the first step.
Our journey may or may not turn out as planned or as expected when we take the first step. However, if we hesitate to take the first step due to fear of how things will turn out, we will never reach our destination.
Isn’t it better to try something and fail than to fail by refusing to try? When we refuse to take action, don’t we end up failing anyway?
Change doesn’t happen when we hope for it. We achieve it when we work for it. Results don’t happen when we give up after a few unsuccessful attempts, they happen when we adapt after each attempt and keep trying until we reach our goals.
The wisdom is knowing that there’s nothing like a miracle because growth happens when we strive for it. Our growth comes from striving to be better than we were before. Taking the first step opens up endless possibilities. When one refuses to take the first step, there is no possibility.
